After tonight’s concert at The Sands Centre in Carlisle you might imagine that Russell would be taking a little break before the next venue on Friday but, no, he’s off back to Rome for a few days to finalise the True Stories album.

30th April 2016

Russell’s bright new website is up and running this morning at the same internet address(es) as before. Well worth exploring, particularly if you’re interested in buying some of the latest merchandise online … there’s a new ‘shop’ page that accepts PayPal and major credit card payments.

Just be careful when you first click “Add To Cart” because the page appears not to change; don’t click “Add To Cart” again or you’ll end up with 2 items in the Cart. You need to click “View Cart” to see all your intended purchases but you can adjust the number of items, or delete something altogether, at that point before paying.

You can also pre-order Russell’s forthcoming album ‘True Stories’ now from his new site for just £8. It won’t be released here in the UK until November but that payment will secure its postal delivery to you own home a month before the official release.

or  :  http://www.russellwatson.com/
Either will work.

Another radio interview this morning … this one ahead of Russell’s upcoming show at Hull City Hall on Wednesday 4th May.  He talks with Matt Hutchinson of Hull’s 99.8 KCFM about all the usual things but when discussing the huge number of concerts he’s undertaking Russell also slips in a remark about “planning some more for the end of the year”.  Marvellous!  KCFM archives its interviews and these can be played back or downloaded for later listening.  Click here for the KCFM archive or click to download and listen now in your own media player (takes a few seconds to load).

24th April 2016

The lovely Eleri Sion and Russell had an extended chat (split by the news) on BBC Radio Wales about his upcoming Songs From The Heart concerts.  Great light hearted banter with Russell also explaining his affection (not really!) for MRI scanners.  Nice to hear airplays of Nessun Dorma and Without You, too.  ‘Listen Again’ (for the next 29 days) on BBC Radio iPlayer.  Scroll to 2 hours 5 minutes (02:05:20).

13th April 2016

Five concerts into the Tour, and a Star Break, and we’ve not seen any formal reviews yet. Some people like to know straight away how a concert went and others don’t want to know a thing until they get their own chance to attend, perhaps later in a Tour, so we’ve put together our own review of the opening night at Crewe Lyceum but, to prevent spoilers, put it on a page that isn’t visible in the website’s Menu.  You can get to it, if you want to, by clicking here.

Russell is a patron of several charities and he supports a small but active campaign called “4Q Cancer” (yes, you say that with a Northumbrian accent and it sounds like … you know … )  that raises funds and awareness in support local cancer treatment centres through the sales of good quality printed leisure and sportswear.  Russell signed one of their T-shirts for auction at a Gala Evening to be held later in the year.
