A small stage was set up on the first floor of the store and two queues were formed in orderly fashion on the ground floor. Those with 10,000 ‘hmv pure’ points were in one queue and the rest of us were in the other. The ‘pure points’ queue got to go upstairs first. Now, here’s the thing … it turns out you get 10,000 points just to start you off when you sign up to the scheme on-line so, if you haven’t already joined, it might be worth considering if you’re planning on going to any of the other four signings.
Russell was accompanied by Gregory Darling and treated us to “If I Loved You“, “Wee Small Hours” and “I’m Alive” before settling down at a trestle table to sign folks’ albums … and have a little chat, too.
