Russell appeared on BBC Songs Of Praise “Christmas Big Sing” to perform ‘Silent Night’ with host Aled Jones as it was sung at Christmas, 1914, during a cease-fire in the trench warfare of World War 1 … in German (Russell) and Welsh (Aled) as well as English.

14th December 2018
THIS MORNING Russell and Aled appeared on ITV’s Lorraine programme to promote their ‘In Harmony‘ album by way of singing, rather well for that time of the morning, ‘Silent Night’ with Russell opening in German and Aled following in Welsh.
A NEW CONCERT DATE was announced via Twitter … Aled and Russell will be taking their ‘In Harmony‘ show to the Villa Marina in Douglas on the Isle of Man on Monday 28th October next year. Tickets had gone on sale earlier this morning.
THE OFFICIAL UK CHARTS are updated each Friday evening and this week ‘In Harmony‘ remains at the top of the Independent Albums chart – for a fifth consecutive week – while regaining one place back to #2 in the Classical Artists Albums chart.

Russell sang at St. Paul’s Cathedral last night for Age UK’s annual Christmas Carol Concert. Today, he and Aled went bell-ringing, as anyone would when in London .

7th December 2018
“In Harmony” has slipped down one place this week on the Official UK Classical Artist Albums Chart as Katherine Jenkins goes straight to #2 while Andrea Bocelli remains at #1.
But we’re very happy to see that Russell and Aled Jones remain at the top of the Independent Albums Chart for a FOURTH consecutive week.

Twitter and most TV guides show that Russell and Aled will be joining James Martin’s cookery programme that airs on ITV1 from 9.30 am on Saturday 8th December.
There’s a +1 if you miss the start and the whole programme is available for a month afterwards on this ITV HUB page.
Note that the ITV HUB no longer supports the Opera browser but is happy enough with Microsoft Edge.

1st December 2018
The Radio 2 programme ‘Good Morning Sunday‘ aired this morning with Aled and Russell each making telephone calls to the studio where they had a lengthy and very funny conversation with Rev Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad.
This programme remains available for a month after broadcast and their conversation starts at the 2 hours 20 minutes and about 45 seconds point.

More news from Aled Jones via Facebook. It’s hoped that he and Russell will be joining BBC Radio 2’s ‘Good Morning Sunday‘ live on air this coming Sunday, 2nd December 2018.
The programme airs from 6.00 am until 8.55 am and Aled has indicated that they hope to be on air some time after 8.00 am. It’s expected that there might be a couple of tracks from ‘In Harmony’ played, too.
The programme should be available afterwards on the BBC’s ‘Listen Again’.

Aled Jones has just posted to his Facebook Page that he and Russell shall (rather than will) be on this coming Friday’s “Good Morning Britain” that airs on ITV1 from 6.00 am with a +1 and ‘catch-up’ also available.
You should be able to watch it live within the UK TV viewing area or on their ‘catch-up’ service.

Russell and Aled appear on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ programme. Aled throws cushions – in a nice way – as his ‘Walking In The Air’ is played in the background to the conversation. The clip is available for a limited time on the ITV HUB.
In the afternoon, the pair held a ‘live’ question and answer session on Facebook. A recording of it can still be watched now but, of course, they won’t be responding ‘live’ to any new questions.
News filters through that they are expected to be on BBC Radio 2’s Steve Wright In The Afternoon show on Thursday.

9th and 10th November 2018
Russell entertained at the wonderfully acoustic Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Friday evening, 9th November, with his full supporting ‘band’ and choir, followed on Saturday 10th with a ‘private’ performance at Warner Leisure’s’ Bodelwyddan Castle where he was accompanied by Richard John for an outstanding evening. We say ‘private’ as admission is restricted solely to the hotel’s resident weekend guests but anyone is free to book in advance.

Russell’s own official web page has been unavailable since earlier today. There is no information, so far, on either his official Facebook Page or Twitter. It may be a glitch or we might be about to be treated to a new page. If it is a new web page, it will most likely become visible on the internet to those furthest east of the UK, such as New Zealand, Australia and Japan, before working its way west.

14th October 2018
Russell has changed his Facebook Profile picture this morning (Sunday 14th October) to one of him with Aled Jones and it appears to mark a collaboration, and the release of a new album, by the two of them.
To begin with, they will release a single track, “Where Have All The Flowers Gone / Here’s To The Heroes” tomorrow, Monday 15th October.
You can hear this track now as it was played early this morning on BBC Radio 2’s ‘Good Morning Sunday’ from 29 minutes and about 25 seconds in.
The track is taken from the pair’s new album, “In Harmony” that is due for release on Friday 9th November 2018.
The air play was followed by the news that Russell and Aled will be touring together NEXT September / October (2019) with tickets being available from THIS COMING FRIDAY 19th October 2018. More details awaited on that.
It would also seem that Russell has returned to Professor Jonathan Shalit OBE for management services. He was with the ROAR Global group some time ago. ROAR Global re-branded earlier this year and is now known as InterTalent Rights Group.
Prof Shalit Tweeted earlier today about the release of this album and referred (with a # hash-tag only) to the ITV programme ‘Lorraine’ that airs from 8.30 am. May be worth watching tomorrow morning’s programme if possible…

ON BBC RADIO MANCHESTER …
Cath Hill of the Manchester Survivors’ Choir was talking with Mike Sweeney on BBC Radio Manchester earlier today about coming to terms with the trauma of the explosion at the end of the Ariana Grande concert, as well as their upcoming support of Russell’s concert at The Lowry in Salford on Saturday.
Russell, Lauren Kosty and John Bailey end the piece with a fabulous ‘live’ performance of ‘Sound Of Silence’, recorded in an earlier programme.
Listen Again from 1 hour 7 minutes and about 30 seconds

A NEW TOUR GUEST …
Emily Haig won’t be with Russell for every performance of this second part of the Canzoni d’Amore Tour and he will be introducing Olivia Safe at Swindon, Salford, Chester, Watford, Southend, Edinburgh, Perth, Canterbury, Guildford and Cheltenham.
Apparently Olivia has one of the highest Soprano vocal ranges in the UK and counts Rufus Wainwright, Jeff Beck and Robbie Williams amongst her many admirers … perhaps we’ll be added to the list soon.

We’ve no date, yet, for the release of Friederike and Russell’s charity recording that they will showcase at ‘The Best Of The West End‘ at the Royal Albert Hall on 8th October.
It ‘may’ even be available then.
If not, though, then with the theme of reconciliation and the connection with the scarlet-clad Chelsea Pensioners, we’d imagine we’d be looking at a date between then and no later than Remembrance Sunday, 11th November.

TUNE IN LATER THIS EVENING …
Russell has Tweeted that he expects to be on BBC Radio 5 Live later this evening. We’ve no idea what’s afoot but he promises that he will be chatting to – and “surprising” – host Phil Williams with “something special”, so we’ll be tuning in.
BBC Radio 5 Live is generally available via the internet, even outside the UK.
– NOTE – … If you haven’t used BBC iPlayer for a while you might possibly find that you need to enter a password (and you may need to register first). You might want to check that you can access the Listen Live feature BEFORE Russell comes on air and that’s expected to be 11.30 pm.

Russell and Robert’s (Russian?) re-union …
Well, we suspect it may have been Russia from the tone of some of the remarks that were bandied about on Twitter after Robert posted that he was off to a ‘secret location’ with an old friend and invited folk to guess whom that might have been. We could be miles out … or even thousands of miles out … on the location but, happily, it turned out to be Russell that Robert was with, though there’s been no further word on the reasons for their short trip from Heathrow.

Peterborough’s Broadway Theatre recently closed its doors to the public and there has been a fortnight or so of uncertainty about its future, particularly performances that had been booked and paid for.
There was a post on the theatre’s Facebook Page dated 6th August that gave little information but appeared to hold some hope that a new owner might be found.
Russell’s own Facebook Page has, this morning, carried a Post that confirms the theatre’s closure and offers advice on obtaining refunds for his now cancelled show there on 29th November.
If you paid more than £100 in total for tickets using a credit card rather than cash or a debit card, the card company may be able to offer some reimbursement … worth asking.

Some very interesting news filtered through late last night about Russell working with Friederike Krum, a mezzo-soprano from Germany. They had, apparently, spent the day with some of the Chelsea Pensioners recording for an EP (Extended Play) to be released, possibly as soon as next month, in support of the Pensioners’ ‘Scarlets Appeal‘ although it might be nearer to the armistice anniversary in November.
Friederike‘s own web page adds that she will be performing with Russell at the Royal Albert Hall in ‘The Best Of The West End‘ on 8th October.

Well, as expected, Russell wasn’t on right at the start of today’s ‘Good Morning Britain’ and, from what we could see, almost wasn’t on at all.
